GREEN is more than just a color.
Everyone knows scarlet, but did you know that GREEN is the other color of Rutgers University?
Just as scarlet represents our school pride, the color green speaks to our commitment to sustainability. Through myriad actions – including implementing one of the most advanced recycling programs in the nation, installing a 6,000 panel solar array on Livingston campus, and following a sustainable purchasing program – Rutgers has proven time and again that ensuring environmental quality for current and future generations isn’t an afterthought, it’s a responsibility we’ve taken to heart.
The new CCB Building will meet the standards for LEED Gold minimum certification, and follow the sustainable design practices recommended by Laboratories for the 21st Century.
“Research in my lab may lead to the development of new, cleaner energy sources.
I’m proud to be part of an institution that is as committed to sustainability as I am.”
